How does Athletica factor in illness or injury into my training schedule?
Athletica's AI-driven platform is designed to enhance your fitness while minimizing the risk of overtraining, illness, or injury. However, when you do fall ill or get injured, it's essential to take proactive steps to manage your training.
What should I do if I get sick or injured?
-
Listen to Your Body
The best approach is to prioritize recovery. If you're unwell or injured, stop training and focus on rest until you feel ready to resume. -
Monitor Your Recovery Using HRV
If you're using a Garmin device, you can track your Heart Rate Variability (HRV) in the ‘Recovery Profile’ under ‘Charts.’ The AI coach provides insights based on this data, helping you understand when it’s safe to resume training. You can read more about how HRV tracking works here. -
Modify Your Training Plan
If you need to adjust your schedule, you have the option to convert your current week into a recovery week. This allows your plan to recalibrate based on your situation. Learn how to change your week to a recovery week here. -
Seek Advice from the Community
The Athletica Forum is an excellent place to get advice and insights from other athletes who have dealt with similar situations. Join the conversation here.
Will Athletica automatically adjust my training after an illness or injury?
Remember, you should never feel compelled to follow the training plan if you're not feeling well. Athletica cannot determine how you feel—only you can do this. If you miss sessions, the AI will automatically adjust your plan; you never have to "catch up."
Athletica does not currently auto-adjust based on illness or injury detection. You will need to manually update your schedule by:
-
Taking rest days when needed.
-
Using HRV and other recovery metrics to gauge readiness.
-
Adjusting your week to a recovery week if needed.
By taking these steps, you can ensure your training remains aligned with your health and recovery needs. If you have further questions, feel free to ask in our Forum or contact our support team.
