Occasionally, erroneous session data—often from faulty GPS recordings or driving away forgetting to stop your GPS watch or bike computer—can lead to inaccuracies in your pace or power curves on the Athletica platform. This can result in inflated or otherwise distorted threshold values, which then affect your personalized zones and metrics. Here’s how to troubleshoot and correct this issue:
Identifying Faulty Data
- Sense-Check Your Curve: Review your pace/power curve in Athletica. Look for any abnormally high points or irregularities that don’t align with your usual training profile.
- Locate the Source: Erroneous data typically stems from GPS errors—such as when forgetting to stop tracking while driving—or similar situations that introduce inaccurate measurements. You can mouse-over the suspicious session on your curve and then click through to the session in your training plan.
Correcting the Curve
- Locate and Delete the Faulty Workout: In your session history or profile chart, find the workout responsible for the errant data point.
- Delete the Workout: Removing the faulty workout should recalibrate your curve and restore your pace or power threshold to its accurate level.
Additional Considerations
Athletica has introduced a filter designed to exclude extreme data points. However, this filter may not catch every instance, especially in older sessions. Regular checks on your curve after sessions can help ensure data accuracy. If you notice recurring issues or have specific concerns, please contact Athletica support or ask in the forum for further assistance.
