Overview
The Custom Scheduling Settings in Athletica allow you to specify which sports you want to train on specific days and how many hours you want to allocate to training. This gives you greater control over your weekly training schedule while allowing Athletica to optimize your training plan.
Where to Find the Custom Scheduling Settings
-
Navigate to Settings in the top menu.
-
Select the About You tab.
-
Scroll down to find the Custom Scheduling Settings section.
Customizing Your Training Schedule
You can set your training availability by:
-
Selecting one or more sports per day (swimming, cycling, running, strength training, and other activities).
-
Adjusting the total training duration per day using the slider.
Understanding the Sport Selection States
Each sport has three possible states:
-
Black: The sport must be scheduled on that day.
-
Greyed-out: The sport must not be scheduled on that day.
-
White: Athletica AI will determine whether to schedule the sport based on your overall training plan.
Rest Day Selection
-
Selecting the "rest" icon (bed symbol) in black will remove all other sports on that day, ensuring it is a rest day.
-
Leaving the rest icon in white gives Athletica AI the option to schedule a rest day if needed.
Avoid Excessive Customization
Setting too many restrictions (e.g., requiring or blocking too many sports on multiple days) limits the effectiveness of Athletica’s optimization. To ensure the best training progression:
-
If you have some flexibility, consider allowing Athletica AI to decide by leaving sports in the white state.
-
If your schedule varies occasionally, it is better to manually move or delete sessions within your training plan rather than applying strict constraints.
Updating Your Schedule
-
Changes to your Custom Scheduling Settings do not require starting a new training plan.
-
However, changes may take some time to reflect in your plan as Athletica optimizes your schedule accordingly.
-
You can always revisit the Settings/About You section to update your availability.
By following these guidelines, you can ensure that your training remains structured, flexible, and optimized for your goals while giving Athletica AI the freedom to generate the best possible plan for you.
